“ I am just on my laptop all day ”: Reditor exposes the start of the milling, realities of work in solo
An engineer of generative AI shared his difficulties with the culture of work and professional exhaustion in a startup based in the United States, highlighting the pressures facing professionals at the start of their career in high-demand technological roles.

Although his role was to focus on AI, he spent a large part of his time managing the work of Backend Python and shipping several features in production.
Unlike other teams, he works mainly with the founders directly, rather than with regular employees, which often increases both visibility and pressure.
He described the cultivation of the work of the company as very demanding. Depending on his post, the achievements are rarely recognized, but even small errors are immediately reported. “Since I have been working solo on most of these projects, responsibility and pressure are incumbent on me,” he wrote. Over time, it has wreaked havoc on his mental and physical health. “I’m just on my laptop all day,” he added, noting that even festive seasons no longer feel pleasant.

Rare appreciations, I think they always look at us from the Indians in the mentality of the slaves. ”
He said he was now looking for opportunities in healthier and more favorable environments where he can continue to apply his skills in generator, Python and Backend engineering.
“If someone here knows openings or could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it,” he concluded, reflecting the challenges that many engineers at the start of their career are faced in high-pressure startup cultures.
