Advantage for Rohit-Kohli! Captain of Australia Pat Cummins said from Odi against India

Pat Cummins has had a story with back injuries. He has not played a test match for Australia since its beginnings in 2011 and its second test in India in 2017.

Cricket Australia (CA) already treated a few shots on Tuesday, September 2. After seeing Mitchell Starc announce his T20i retirement, they received news from the leader Pat Cummins. The winning captain of the ODI 2023 World Cup was excluded from any cricket action until the ashes start later this year. This means that Cummins will miss the next series of white balls against New Zealand and India after bone stress was found behind.

No Cummins means advantage for India

Now, in order to make Cummins adapted to ashes, Australia will keep it away from any action on the ground. This will certainly give India an advantage in the bilateral series against the Australians. Please note, India should play three ODI and five T20is. Superbly, the Indian fans areas have already been sold on all these games below. The reason being the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who will play his first match for India after the final of the ODI Champions Trophy in February.

Even they were signing a relief because they don’t have to face Pat Cummins on fast Australian surfaces. The right arm stimulator had enough success against the legendary duo, having rejected them 19 times (combined) through international cricket.

“”Cummins was rested from the recent T20 series against the Antilles and South Africa. Despite this scheduled landing period, Cummins experienced certain lower back pain in progress after the Antilles test tour“Said AC press release.

“”A more in -depth survey has identified a level of lumbar bone stress which will require more in -depth management in the coming months. Cummins will not be taken into account for the next limited series of the Overs against India and will continue its rehabilitation plan with a return to bowling in to be determined in the context of its ash preparation. “”

Run against time for ashes?

Cummins was sidelined with lumbar bone stress in the lower back, which also put his preparation for ashes in doubt. He could miss the opening test in Perth, from November 21.

Cummins played much less than usual in 2025. In all formats, he only succeeded 175.1 overs, including 95.1 in four tests against South Africa and the Antilles earlier this year. In comparison, he had sent more than 400 overs in each of the last three calendar years. The reduced workload was part of a deliberate accumulation towards the ashes, but persistent pain after the Caribbean tour meant more investigation and the discovery of bone stress.

It is a worrying development given the history of Cummins. Stress fractures tormented the first part of his career, keeping him outside the test cricket for almost six years between 2011 and 2017. Since then, he has been the most sustainable quick launcher in Australia, team captain in the two tests and the ODIs.
