Coors Field was not a refuge for Colorado rockies, and it will not be easier this weekend.

The Colorado was swept by the Philadelphia Phillies in a four -game home series and will now face another first place team – the American League in New York Yankees – in a series of three games from Friday evening in Denver.

New York will send the right-hander Clarke Schmidt (1-1, 4.41 ERA) to the mound while the Rockies have not yet appointed a starter. The right-handed of the Chase Dollander recruit was to start, but was placed on the 15-day injured list with a constraint from the right forearm.

Schmidt, who missed his first start to the season with the tendonitis of the right rotator cuff, launched at least six rounds in each of his last three departures. He won his only departure against Colorado, granting two points on three strokes in six rounds to Coors Field on July 15, 2023.

The Yankees came to Denver during a sequence of four consecutive victories and won 11 of their last 14 games in the general classification, including 1-0 against Texas on Thursday. Judge Aaron flirts with an average of the stick of .400 (0.396), but New York has other offensive players.

One is Jasson Dominguez, 22, who struck a Wednesday circuit during the 4-3 victory on Wednesday against the Rangers. He strikes. 236 with six circuits and 22 points produced in 41 games this season, and his balance impressed manager Aaron Boone.

“He is simply not affected by great results or a day in difficulty. It gives him a little smile, will work and likes to play the game with his teammates,” said Boone. “It is really easy and fun to be there. It has a good perspective on things. But you are really starting to see how a talent (it is). You see speed. You see power.”

The Rockies are trying to get out of a collapse of a season which has them on the pace for an unwanted place in history. Colorado has an 8-42 file, the worst start of a season in the modern era.

The 2-0 defeat of Colorado against Philadelphia marked the seventh time this season on Thursday, the team was excluded. The rocks have a 5-20 file at home and were preceded 27-12 in the four games against the phillies.

The Rockies, who lost five consecutive games overall, changed the managers 10 games ago, but this decision did not change their fortune. They are 1-9 under the acting manager Warren Schaeffer, who is positive and realistic about the position of the team.

“We are in a very unique situation at the moment. And for me, the opportunity abounds in the situation in which we are,” said Schaeffer. “And if we don’t look at him like that, ashamed of us. We could take this moment in which we are right now and look back in three years and say:” Boy, we used this good way to move forward. “”

“But if we are going to be made up and wallowing, it is not a way for a man to act, and it is not a way for a group of players, and just a group of people, to act if you want to go ahead.”
