The man suspected of having killed a minnesota legislator and having injured another was placed in police custody, said two law enforcement officials, ending a search of almost two days that set up on board.
Vance Boelter was arrested on Sunday evening. The arrest was confirmed to the Associated Press by law enforcement officials who had not been authorized to publicly discuss the details of the current investigation and spoke to anonymous. The former democratic speaker, Melissa Hortman, and her husband, Mark, were killed in their home in Brooklyn Park on Saturday early in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis. An unchanged criminal complaint on Sunday evening indicates that Boelter faces two second degree murder leaders and two chiefs of attempted murder in the second degree in the death of the Hortmans and the injury of Hoffman and his wife.
The Hoffmans were attacked first at their home in Champin early Saturday. After the nearby Brooklyn Park police learned this shooting, they sent patrol agents to check the Hortmans’ home.
The Brooklyn Park police arrived just in time to see Boelter shoot Mark Hortman through the open door of the house, said the complaint. He says they exchanged gunshots with Boelter, who fled inside the house before escaping the scene.

Hortman, 55, was the best Democratic leader of the State House since 2017.
