FBR set to deploy simplified digital income declarations for the salaried class

Islamabad: In a key step to tax reform, the Federal Board of Return (FBR) will begin to accept simplified digital income declarations from employees from July 15, aimed at rationalizing compliance and encouraging a wider participation in the tax net.

Development was shared at a high -level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday to examine the progress of the digitization of the FBR, including the implementation of an evaluation system based on artificial intelligence (AI) and other structural reforms.

According to the official briefing, salaried taxpayers will benefit most from the new digital forms, which have been made concise, friendly and available in Ourdou. Urdou yields for employees will also be officially available by July 30.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister declared that the expansion of the tax base and the reduction of the tax of the poor were among the main priorities of the government.

Being the availability of simple income tax declarations in Ourdou, he said that a line of assistance should be established to help the declaration of income declarations and digital invoicing should also be launched in Ourdou. “In tax reforms, the emphasis should remain on the convenience of the ordinary man,” he added.

The Prime Minister ordered that third -party validation will be ensured for all FBR reforms in order to maintain transparency. He said that for the convenience of the public, income statements have been made extremely easy by making them digital, concise and linked to a centralized database.

PM Shehbaz has asked for a public awareness campaign to be launched on the ease of income tax declarations so that more and more people can produce their declarations under the new system.

He also congratulated the Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, the economic team, the president of the FBR and their teams, saying that the positive results of the tax reforms are the result of their tireless efforts.

“For the first time in the history of the country, the implementation of an AI-based tax evaluation system is great success, and FBR initiatives are laudable,” he said.

He also said that small and medium -sized enterprises should receive special support to join the digital billing system.

Meanwhile, participants were informed of progress related to digital billing, electronic bila, simplified income statements, the AI assessment system, the establishment of a central command and control center and the cargo monitoring system.

It has been informed that the auctions for the FBR control and control unit would soon be completed and that the system will be fully functional by September. This will not only provide centralized data, but will also help decision -making.

The meeting was also informed of the IA -based evaluation system. Traders are now authorized to submit advanced goods declarations before the arrival of ships. Under this, they will obtain a complete exemption from the initial rights and taxes. With this system, the percentage of advanced goods declarations should drop from 3% to more than 95%. This will also allow containers with prior declarations to be delivered directly from the port to factories.

Regarding digital billing, the meeting has been informed that all the companies, large and small, will have to issue receipts at the time of the sale via the online FBR system. About 20,000 companies are expected to reach this system in the coming months. In just one month, 8,000 invoices amounting to 11.6 billion rupees were issued through this system.

This system includes a taxpayer portal and a surveillance dashboard. It has been shared that companies can join the system without cost via PRAL (Pakistan Revenue Automation LTD). Training is also given to traders. Once fully implemented, it will not be necessary to submit selling tax declarations separately, because all transactions will be automatically recorded in the system.

In addition, the 8 -digit HS code recognized internationally will help eliminate false and flying invoices. Digital billing will also facilitate the evaluation of the performance of the sales tax system. Commercial training sessions are organized to make the system effective.

The meeting was also informed of the progression of the cargo monitoring system and the E-Bilty system.

It has been explained that the system will allow real -time monitoring of the circulation of goods and the monitoring of tax payments. AI assessment will also be possible thanks to this, which will make the tax application more efficient and more efficient.
