Linda Yaccarino announced Wednesday that she would move as CEO of Elon Musk’s social media platform after two years at the helm.
“When @elonmusk and I spoke for the first time about his vision of X, I knew that it would be the opportunity for a life to carry out the extraordinary mission of this business,” said Yaccarino in an article on X. “I am extremely grateful to him for having entrusted me with the responsibility to protect freedom of expression, transform the business and transform X into application.”

Yaccarino has not disclosed the reason for his departure or his next steps in the post.

She praised the company for what it described as a “reversal of historic companies” under its two-year leaders, highlighting the efforts of the company to prioritize the safety of children on the platform and restore the confidence of advertisers. She also teased in the post that the “best is yet to come” while society enters a new chapter with Musk’s artificial intelligence Company, XAI.
In March, XAI acquired X in an All-Stock agreement which appreciated the social media platform at 33 billion dollars.

Musk thanked Yaccarino for his contributions to the company in an article on X. However, he did not reveal who would replace it.
The property group led by Elon Musk bought Twitter at the end of 2022 for $ 44 billion, took the private company and renamed it as X. However, the platform was faced with major challenges to retain advertisers, in particular by reassuring them that it has moderation of sufficient content.
Musk had a mandate of about seven months in the position before typing in Yaccarino. He made the official announcement in mid-May 2023. Yaccarino was supposed to “focus mainly on commercial operations”, while the role of Musk focused on the design and technology of his products, said the billionaire in the past.

After her announcement, she declared in a tweet that she was “delighted to help” her vision “to create a better future” on the social media platform and “transform” the company with him.
After taking over, she focused on restoring relations with advertisers, promoting relations with content creators, creating partnerships with major entertainment brands such as WWE and testified before the Senate judicial committee concerning efforts to counter the sexual exploitation of online children.
Yaccarino spent more than a decade as a framework in Nbcuniversal and helped transform “the premium video ecosystem of $ 70 billion”, according to the media company.
