A series of anti -Semitic attacks in Australia, including a criminal fire attack against a synagogue in Melbourne and a violent raid on an Israeli restaurant, has Jews of the Australian city living in fear and demanding officials take action.

The first attack occurred when attackers sparked a fire outside the external doors of the Hebrew Congregation East Melbourne. About 20 worshipers ate shabbat dinner inside, according to SBS News. Police has not yet classified the incident a terrorist attack.

Avi Yemini, chief journalist of Rebel News Online in Australia, said that the rapid response of firefighters had prevented “another synagogue in this city from being destroyed in a terrorist attack, such as the bombardment of the fires of the Synagogue Adas Israel last year, which is not resolved”.

Later in the same evening, around twenty masked extremists terrorized guests at the Israeli restaurant Miznon. According to the Jerusalem Post, the demonstrators chanted “death at the FDI (Israeli defense forces)” and threw chairs and glassware at the restaurant.

Yemeni said Fox News’ digital demonstrators “provoked absolute chaos” and degenerated “violence against customers and the destruction of goods, finally sending terrified guests in the process of presenting themselves for security”.

SBS News also indicated that Victoria police were investigating a third incident, in which offenders set fire to three vehicles, destroying one and have a nearby wall. A police commander refused to say if the content of the painting was anti -Semitic but described the three incidents as containing “anti -Semitism inferences”.

Alex Ryvchin, co-PDG of the Executive Council of the Australian Jew (ECAJ), published a declaration on X and urged “all sides of politics and all the Australians to condemn these deplorable crimes”.

“Those who sing death are not peace militants. Those who burn prayer houses with families inside do not seek war,” said Ryvchin.

Noting “violent ideology at work in our country which operates on the sidelines of social policy and movements”, Ryvchin said that “those responsible cannot be reasoned or peaceful. They must be confronted with the whole strength of the law”.

Yemini said Friday’s attacks showed how the “embraced” demonstrators have become.

“Since October 7, Victoria police-under the leadership of the government-has enabled anti-Israeli demonstrators to effectively hold the hostage in Melbourne,” he said.
