Diamondbacks seeks to capitalize on offensive prowess against the Royals

Friday, the Arizona Diamondbacks will turn to their season record when they conclude their last house house before the stars break with the opening of a series of three games against the Kansas City Royals in Phoenix.

The DiamondBacks began their 10-game homestands two games above .500 before a scan of the Miami Marlins and a division of a four game set with the Giants of San Francisco put the club at 43-44. The series against the Giants was a missed opportunity for the Diamondbacks because they won the first two games against the team directly in front of them in the West National League.

The Arizona attack recorded 41 points in the last eight team games, but the Diamondbacks have only two victories to show. They surrounded 10 circuits and scored 19 points during the series against San Francisco.

Arizona’s manager Torey Lovullo said that there had been a few times when the strikers did not capitalize on an opportunity, but he added that it was the nature of the game.

“Overall, I am satisfied,” he said after the Diamondbacks 7-2 defeat on Thursday. “We are marking a lot of offensively races. From time to time, we will meet a bit of a roadblock.”

Eugenio Suarez continued his hot sequence Thursday with a solo home run. Suarez, who struck 30 circuits last season in 158 games, now has 27 in 85 this season.

He strikes .361 (17 for 47) with six circuits and 12 points produced in his last 12 games.

The Eduardo Rodriguez de l’Arizona (3-4, 5.13 ERA) will start on Friday against Kris Bubic de Kansas City (6-6, 2.25) in a battle of left-handers.

Rodriguez granted a point in 5 1/3 rounds in a decision without a decision against the Miami Marlins during a defeat of 6-4 Sunday.

It has a 4-2 sheet with an MPM of 4.09 in 10 career appearances (it all starts) against the Royals. His has not been launched against them since July 19, 2023, while tanning for the Detroit Tigers.

Bubic lost its second consecutive departure on Sunday despite the permit of two points in five rounds in one defeat of 5-1 against the Dodgers of Los Angeles. He will face the diamondbacks for the first time in his career.

Kansas City is also looking for a turnaround.

The Royals have only 3-9 in their last 12 games, but that includes the division of a series of four games in Seattle to start their current seven game road trips. A seventh round of three rounds on Thursday fueled Kansas City in a 3-2 victory following the navy.

Royals Salvador Perez left the match in the eighth round. Manager Matt Quatraro said that the 35 -year -old replacement was tightened on him.

“He did not feel like he was able to put enough weight on it at that time to continue,” said Quatraro.

Quatraro gave no indication if Perez could play on Friday.

Bobby Witt Jr. follows his Stellar 2024 season with a solid campaign this year. The champion of the American league striker last season strikes. 289 with a better percentage of 0.488 slugging. However, it is much better at the road in 2025.

In 44 competition outside, Witt hits. 320 (against a clip .257 at home), and he hit seven of his 11 circuits on the road.

Going 1 for 5 Thursday, Witt set a Royals record with a 23 -game road sequence, beating a brand established by Hal McRae covering the seasons of 1982 and 1983.
