Ethiopia completes the controversial Nile dam, degenerating the dispute with Egypt


The Ethiopian Prime Minister said Thursday that the great disputed dam of the Ethiopian Renaissance on the Nile was finished, a key step in a dispute with Egypt on water rights. Cairo is opposed to the project, fearing to reduce its vital water supply of the Nile, calling it as an existential threat. Egypt, which depends on the Nile for Agriculture and its 105 million people, has long requested a binding agreement on the sharing of water.
