Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, lost the last stage of his legal battle on Friday about the official security demotion during his visit to the United Kingdom. Harry had appealed a previous court decision which allowed the British government to support its close protection details, which came after its decision to resign as a working member of the royal family and move to the United States.

Throughout his life as a royal work, Harry has received general personal protection provided by the British police. In February 2020, after leaving his royal functions, Harry and the protection of his family were demoted to the security measures to be considered on a case -by -case basis.

Harry and his lawyers argued that private bodyguards, who cannot carry firearms under British law and do not have access to the government’s security network, are not enough to protect it and his family when they visit the United Kingdom

“The United Kingdom is my house,” Harry told the High Court of the country in December 2023.

“The United Kingdom is at the heart of the inheritance of my children and a place where I want them to feel at home as much as they are living in the United States at the moment which cannot occur if it is not possible to keep them safe when they are on British soil,” said Harry.

In 2024, Harry lost a legal challenge which he filed against this previous decision in 2020, but he obtained the right to appeal.
