Fog clarification of the supply chain for plane suppliers, Constellium dit
PARIS (Reuters) – The visibility of aviation suppliers improves, helped by Airbus measures to overcome the procurement chain hungs that have reached demand in the past year, said the manufacturer of aluminum products Constellium on Wednesday.
The bottlenecks in the supply chain, especially for engines, have hampered Airbus efforts to speed up production, although the jet manufacturer has maintained a 2025 delivery target.
Constellium, one of the world’s largest aluminum suppliers for planes, has felt the training effect with lower volumes for its aerospace activity since last year.
“Things are more reassuring, we are a little less in mist at an industrial level,” Philippe Hoffmann, president of aerospace and transport in Constellium told Reuters.
Boeing, on the other hand, should also speed up deliveries once he has integrated Spirit Aerosystems, said Hoffman.
An increase in deliveries by the two world planemakers, as well as compensation for current inventory levels, should increase demand along the supply chain in the next two years, he added.
The longer -term prospects for aluminum demand in aerospace remain healthy, Airbus offering orders that came out of more than a decade for high -intensity aluminum models like its unique A320 jet, Hoffmann added.
