Nicolas Sarkozy became the second former French chief on Sunday to be stripped of the Legion of Honor after the Nazi collaborator Philippe Pétain. The decree follows the condemnation of Sarkozy for corruption and follows the rules of the order despite President Emmanuel Macron saying that he was opposed to this decision.
