Big Boogie says he wants Carmen Antunez to ‘heal’ after confirming split
After weeks of online speculation, Big Boogie opened up about the status of his relationship with Carmen Elena during an appearance on Cam Newton’s “Funky Friday” podcast. During the hour-long conversation, the rapper confirmed that the couple had split, explaining that he was not used to being in a relationship under constant public attention. He also acknowledged the negative consequences of the situation on his mental health.
“I felt like I was losing myself mentally” Big Boogie shared, adding that the incessant talk surrounding their relationship was creating an energy he no longer wanted in his life.
Boogie also expressed concern for Carmen, saying he wanted her to get better. Her comments appear to reference the online criticism Carmen faces, much of which stems from her highly publicized ongoing divorce from Corey Pritchett, the father of her children.
When asked if he would consider rekindling the relationship, Big Boogie shut down the idea. He explained that his current goal is to become a better artist and a better father, noting that revisiting the relationship would require “too much energy,” which he is not ready to give.
