Tottenham prepares doubling offer for Souza who wants to join Frank
Tottenham are preparing an offer of double your money to sign a player who is apparently keen to join Thomas Frank’s squad, according to a new update.
Thomas Frank eyes January deals under pressure from Spurs
Spurs are currently in torrid form, having won just three of their last 11 matches in all competitions, and are also facing a real injury crisis in some areas.
To add to their woes in this regard, star winger Mohammed Kudus, who has arguably been their best attacking player this season, is expected to miss several matches after picking up an injury against Sunderland.
A new striker was already high on Frank’s priority list in January after he sold last season’s top scorer, Brennan Johnson, to Crystal Palace for around £35 million, but this new move from Kudus will now put him even more to the fore.
The Lilywhites have already had an offer rejected by Antoine Semenyo, who instead opted to join Premier League heavyweights Man City. So Spurs are back to the drawing board as they look for new attacking options.
Tottenham set to negotiate to sign AC Milan target ‘this week’, offer being prepared
The Lilywhites are ready to spend in January.
Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison have also not returned from their serious injuries, and in the meantime Frank is desperately short of numbers further out.
Left-back Destiny Udogie has also missed their last seven matches with a hamstring injury, meaning Tottenham have been forced to turn to veterans Ben Davies and Djed Spence to cover for the Italian.
As such, they are believed to be eyeing a January move for Souza as potential cover in that area of the field.
According to reports this week, the north Londoners are set to submit a new and improved offer for the Santos left-back after seeing their initial £8.5 million offer rejected.
Now, according to a new update from journalist Eduardo Burgos this evening, Spurs have been given encouragement in their pursuit of the Brazilian.
Souza keen to join Tottenham as Spurs prepare offer to double your money
Regarding X, Burgos reports that Souza is enthusiastic about joining Tottenham for various reasons, such as the proposed sporting project and the possibility of living in London.
He also reveals that Spurs’ second offer for the teenager will be worth almost “double” their initial offer, with “busy days” expected as Frank’s side attempt to get him over the finishing line.
Souza, who made 29 appearances for Santos last season, scoring one goal and two assists from full-back, is highly rated amid reports that AC Milan and BlueCo are also mulling a move for him.
However, as things stand, it is Spurs who are in pole position to sign the Brazilian Serie A talent this month, and he could be their first arrival of the winter.
