Here’s Why Nathan Kress Feels ‘Weird’ When His Daughter Watches ‘iCarly’

Nathan Kress recently got candid and revealed how he felt when his eldest daughter, Rosie Carolyn, watched iCarly after almost twenty years.

By discussing with PEOPLE magazine for its recently released animated show A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas, The 33-year-old American actor admitted it seems “surreal” that new generations appreciate iCarly and those who enjoyed the series when it first came out are all grown up now.

Kress, who played the role of Freddie Benson in iCarlysaid, “I feel like I’m in a very, very small group of actors who are able to say that they’ve really grown with their audience, but who are also kind of experiencing growth again with their own kids due to the fact that now the show is on Netflix and on Paramount Plus, and it’s kind of persistent on those streaming services.” (sic)

Laughing, he added, “They’re available to anyone at any time. I feel like a baby boomer when I’m like, ‘Back in my day, we had to wait a whole week for a new episode and we had to watch commercials and we had to have the Tivo.’ Now it’s so easy for these kids. All they have to do is turn it on and say, “Watch iCarly.” And then boom, there are only a hundred episodes left.

THE In the storm The star went on to share that he frequently receives praise from fans of all ages and that he feels grateful that he “makes a living from my hobby ‘for fun’.”

Kress, who shares two daughters, Rosie, 7 1/2, and Evie Elise, 4 1/2, and son Lincoln William, 2 1/2, with his wife London, recalls: “And the fans have kids! I went to the park the other day with my two-year-old daughter, and I was surrounded by a group of 8- to 10-year-olds, and I forgot that now they’re my audience too. It’s a circle of strange life in which I find myself.”

“And now my oldest daughter is about to turn 8 and she’s looking at him! It’s so weird to hear my prepubescent voice echoing in the other room. And she’s in there laughing at jokes that I forgot we said,” the father of three explained.

Before concluding, it is pertinent to mention that A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas, which starred Nathan Kress as Chuck E. Cheese, was released on November 27, 2025 on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Roku, Fire TV, and YouTube.
