Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashes historic 36-ball ton

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history by playing for Bihar in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday. He became the second-fastest Indian centurion in List A cricket, reaching the 100-run mark in 36 deliveries.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is part of Bihar’s XI in the ongoing Plate Group match against Arunachal Pradesh in Ranchi.
The 14-year-old completed his ton by winning a single in the 12th. However, he missed completing his double century by just 10 runs. He scored 190 runs in 84 balls at a strike rate of 226.19. He smashed 16 boundaries and 15 sixes in his incredible knock for his state team.
Fastest century in List A cricket by Indian Batters
Suryavanshi completed his hundred in 36 balls. The record for the fastest century scored by an Indian batter in List A cricket is held by Anmolpreet Singh. Anmolpreet scored his hundred in 35 balls against the same opponent in 2024.

The brilliance of the batting from Bihar
Suryavanshi led the Bihar innings with his knock of 190 runs. Piyush Singh added 77 off 66, providing composure in the middle. Ayush Loharuka and Sakibul Gani also ignited the stadium with their respective centuries.
Loharuka scored 116 off 56 with 11 boundaries and 8 sixes, while Gani smashed 128 off just 40 balls with a strike rate of over 320. Gani remained unbeaten with 10 boundaries and 12 sixes.
Bihar finished with 576 for 4 on the scoreboard after 50 overs. Big scores from the batters helped the team cross the 500-run mark in their opening match of the tournament, leaving Arunachal chasing a huge total.
