Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal feud over harassment while filming It Ends With Us is far from over.

According to the latest report from PEOPLE MagazineThe case saw a major development as the actress’ legal team requested sanctions against Justin Baldoni’s defense for “misconduct in deposition matters.”

Legal documents say Lively was questioned about her sexual history and demonstrated a “fundamental lack of decorum” during depositions by Baldoni’s lawyers, citing the Rape Protection Act.

This law would aim to prevent survivors of sexual abuse or assault from being questioned about their sexual history in court.

“Throughout discovery, several defense attorneys insisted on making objections, often in depositions they were not defending, and on spending time on the record belittling and oratorical,” wrote Lively’s attorney, Michael J. Gottlieb.

On top of that, they claimed they asked opposing counsel to stop in a Sept. 29 letter citing “inappropriate and unprofessional behavior.”

At the time, they wrote: “Ms. Lively’s sexual and/or romantic history has no bearing on the issues at issue in this case and we will not tolerate such scrutiny.” »
