However, Head has already been dropped once in this innings, and that too at one of the most crucial moments of the game, when he was just a step away from completing his century. Ben Stokes took off and vice-captain Harry Brook was England’s stand-in skipper.
Present in the gully region, England stand-in skipper dropped Travis Head as he attempted to cut a wide ball through the region between the gully and point.
Head then continued his love affair with Adelaide, and both hometown boys, Alex Carey in the first innings and now Head in the second innings, reached the hundred. After his ton, Head leaned down and kissed the Adelaide pitch as part of his century celebrations.
