‘Red Sparrow’ actor Matthias Schoenaerts reportedly sentenced to six months in prison

Matthias Schoenaerts was reportedly sentenced to six months in prison in Belgium after several driving-related offenses.
A press release from the Limburg police court, dated December 1, indicates that Supergirl And Red Sparrow The actor, 47, was found guilty of driving without a valid license on several occasions between April 5 and 21, 2024, according to Belga Press Agency And Deadline.
Authorities said Schoenaerts was first arrested while riding a loaner motorcycle without proper documents.
Although it was later confirmed that the bike was registered and insured, investigators discovered that he had been officially banned from driving since September 2021 for failing to take required tests.
His license has been held by the court since January 2023.
Belga also said he was arrested again on Nov. 21 in Pelt after allegedly driving without a license and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
The court found him guilty of two counts of driving without a valid license and failure to provide proof of insurance on April 5. He also has 11 previous police records.
In addition to the six-month sentence, he was also given a one-year driving ban, mandatory medical and psychological tests and a fine of €4,000.
Court spokesman Luc De Cleir told Belgian media outlet Belgia that he was unlikely to serve an actual prison sentence.
