Kylian Mbappe scored all four of Real Madrid’s goals as they survived a Champions League thriller with Olympiacos, securing a 4-3 victory at Piraeus.
Chiquinho had given Olympiacos a stunning lead in the eighth minute, only for Mbappe to put Madrid in command with a hat-trick inside seven minutes.
The Greek champions showed extremely impressive fighting spirit in the second half, however, Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for the hosts before Mbappe continued his incredible evening to restore Madrid’s two-goal lead.
This was stamped out again by Ayoub El Kaabi nine minutes from the end of normal time to set up a grandstand finish, but Madrid held on to move up to fifth in the league stage standings on 12 points. Olympiacos, with two points from five matches, will face an uphill battle to reach the round of 16.
