Iraq: Snap parliamentary elections begin with security forces and displaced people able to vote today

Members of Iraq’s security forces, along with internally displaced citizens, began voting Sunday in legislative elections, the sixth since the 2003 U.S. invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein. Polling stations opened at 7 a.m. for 1.3 million security guards across 809 voting centers and will close at 6 p.m. before being deployed to provide security on the main polling day, Tuesday.
