Elsbeth’s Brittany Inge Teases Drama as Wendell Pierce’s Daughter

Elsbeth fans are going to get some fun surprises because Brittany Inge joins the show as Wendell Piercethe daughter of on screen.
“I play Julia Payne Wagner and I’m related to our beloved Captain Wagner. All I can say is that I’m her relative and I give her a lot of headaches – and a lot of drama,” Inge said exclusively. Us every week ahead of the Thursday, October 30 episode of the hit CBS series. “I’m just giving him a headache, like he needs it given the stress of his job.”
Stills from upcoming episodes of Elsbeth teased Julia working at the police station. The new addition also seems to lead to some romance, with Julia appearing quite close to Braeden De La Garza’s character, Detective Rivers.
“Working with Wendell and everyone was literally a dream. Everyone was so kind, warm and welcoming. It was just a joy and a pleasure too,” recalls Inge, who was already a fan of the series. “I was watching it faithfully when I got the audition. I loved The Good Fight, and it was quite a journey to get here.”
After initially appearing on The good wife And The good fightCarrie Preston was reintroduced as Elsbeth Tascioni, who becomes a de facto detective assisting the New York Police Department in their investigations. The main character’s unconventional methods lead him to make unique observations that help solve crimes.
Elsbethwhich premiered in 2024, also stars Pierce and allows for a wide variety of famous guest stars, including Jane Krakowski, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Blair Underwood, Keegan-Michael Key, Laura Benanti And Vanessa Williams.
Inge was thrilled to have the chance to join the cast, especially opposite Pierce.
“I’ve been following his career forever. I’m a huge fan and my first scene was with him,” she noted. “I was a little freaked out, but he’s so welcoming and so down to earth. He’s such a generous scene partner, and he helped me remember who I am and settle into the work.”
While Inge couldn’t say much, she did hint that Julia will continue to play a role in season 3, adding, “I hope I get to that. [help with cases]. There are so many things I still don’t know. I know what I know but I don’t know much. So I hope that’s the case. She has a very cool job. I think she could be an asset. It could be useful in the field.
Executive producer Jonathan Tolins also spoke with We on what viewers can expect next Carra PattersonExiting the series as a series regular.
“I wish I could say there was a big plan, but a lot of it is going to be how the conversation in the writers’ room goes,” he shared earlier this month. “When we have a surprise, it excites us. We know that’s what we should pursue.”
Tolins said that Captain Wagner’s life would not benefit from more screen time, adding: “We [also] introduce new characters who test Elsbeth’s feelings about honesty and trust. She cultivates new friendships thanks to Kaya’s departure.
