Kendall Jenner Makes Rare Comment About Caitlyn Jenner’s ‘Different Points of View’
Kendall Jenner admitted her relationship with dad Caitlyn Jenner was affected by their “different” points of view.
During the Thursday, October 30 episode of The Kardashians, Kris Jenner invited Caitlyn, 76, to their old home to say goodbye before putting it up for sale.
“About an hour ago I called Caitlyn and said, ‘What are you doing?’ Of course she said, ‘I’m having dinner and watching Fox News,'” Kris, 69, told the cameras. “I said, ‘Of course you are.'”
Kris and Caitlyn’s children — Kendall, 29, and Kylie, 28 — were happy about their reunion, but Kendall also used Caitlyn’s cameo to update the public on her status with her father.
“I really didn’t expect my dad to be here, just knowing the relationship my mom has with my dad. Not that it’s bad, it’s just distant,” Kendall shared. Kylie added: “I don’t know if my parents will ever be best friends again, but it’s definitely a great first step.”
In a confessional, Kendall opened up about where she currently stands with Caitlyn, adding, “I have to compartmentalize my relationship with my dad in a way. Because I love her and she’s my dad. We have a good relationship but sometimes I get frustrated with her with certain things.”
She continued, “We just have completely different views on things. But other than that, I always want to include her. I know she doesn’t have much outside of her family and I know she’s lonely.”
Thursday’s episode marked Caitlyn’s first appearance on the family reality show in years, amid ups and downs with Kris and her stepdaughters. Khloé Kardashian, Kim Kardashian And Kourtney Kardashian. The former athlete has become a parental figure to Kris’ children (including Rob Kardashian) when they started dating in the ’90s. After their marriage, the then-couple expanded their family with Kendall and Kylie.
After two decades of marriage, Caitlyn and Kris announced their separation in 2013. Caitlyn publicly came out as transgender in 2015 – the same year her divorce from Kris was finalized. Caitlyn’s bond with her stepchildren apparently became controversial after the release of her tell-all book, The secrets of my lifein 2017.
Caitlyn’s conservative views and public comments about her family continued to cause tension.
“He was my dad for 24 years and it hurts me too,” Khloé, 41, shared in a May 2024 episode. The Kardashians.
Kim, 45, meanwhile, didn’t seem bothered by the evolution of her relationship with Caitlyn.
“I got so many texts saying, ‘Isn’t what your stepfather says about you hurting you?’ Honestly, it’s not,” Kim told the cameras. “I had such a wonderful stepfather who raised me so that none of these things that are said – no matter how twisted they are – will make me think differently about the life I had.”
