Dinesh Vijan has emerged as one of the Indian film industry’s most successful producers in the post-COVID world, finding success with mid-budget films lacking big stars. Diwali 2025 will see the release of Thammawhich follows his blockbuster Independence Day 2024 – Street 2. Reliable sources have confirmed that Thamma is the most expensive film in Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.

“Thamma is the most expensive and ambitious film in the Maddock Horror Comedy universe. With the collaboration of internationally renowned VFX companies, the final budget of Thamma is around Rs. 125 crores, excluding print and advertising, which is estimated in the range of Rs. 20 million. The final cost of landing Thamma will fall close to Rs. 145 crore,” a source said Bollywood Hungama.
The source also informs that Thamma surpassed Stree 2 to become the most expensive film in the universe. “Stree 2 was made on a budget of Rs. 125 crores, including printing and advertising. Thamma is almost Rs. 20 crores more, and producer Dinesh Vijan is banking on Rashmika and Ayushmann to attract the audience. He truly believes in the magic of content, which is what made him invest so much money, and now hopes that the lead actors will attract audiences on the opening day,” the source added to us.
This is not the first time that Dinesh Vijan has taken the risk of putting together a major film. “He did Chhaava with Vicky, which most considered a not-so-wise business decision. But the film kept its promises, just like Vicky. He is now confident that the film and the lead actors will be up to par again come Diwali, as he has already given it the label of his most prestigious universe. »
Thamma is scheduled to be released on October 21, and the distributors have demanded that 70 percent of the total be presented at the Indian level.
