Cillian Murphy shares his four favorite films

Cillian Murphy picked his best films of all time during his appearance at the iconic Criterion Closet.
The Oscar winner has starred in some of the biggest box office films, leaving a lasting impact, but he recently gave fans a glimpse of his own favorites.
During his time at the Criterion Collection, a film distribution company that focuses on the licensing, restoration and distribution of important classic and contemporary films, the Oppenheimer star has selected certain films that he considers “classics.”
The first movie he picked off the shelf was The swimming poola film which, according to him, “will make you want to settle in France”.
He raved that the beauty of the film is “what’s not said, the whole subject matter and the energies that happen between the characters.”
Let’s move on to the next one he picked up Rosettedirected by the Dardenne brothers, who Murphy called “terrific.”
“It’s going to make you cry,” Murphy said, adding, “It’s exactly my type of movie.”
His third choice was a box set of films by John Cassavetes, of which Murphy said: “It’s very special to me because in the early 2000s I was in America and I wasn’t really happy with the kind of work I was doing.”
He added, “And I wasn’t really happy with my approach to acting, and everyone was like, ‘Dude, you need to watch Cassavetes.'”
For the fourth film, Murphy revealed Unknown codea 2000 thriller that he called “formative” for him. He added that the film’s opening sequence is something he “will never forget.”
He concluded his trip with a collection of Wes Anderson films, presented in an appropriately colored box, which he found amusing, calling it a “beautiful thing.”
Although these were Murphy’s best choices, they had an impact on his life. Meanwhile, his new movie Steve is also leaving its mark on audiences around the world.
Steve was released on October 3 on Netflix.
