During the draw, Suryakumar Yadav did not salute his counterpart, and after India recorded a dominant victory with 7 gates in the group phase match, they refused to shake hands with Salman Agha & Co.
Pakistan players did not wait for the usual handles, but the Indian players closed the door to the locker room. After that, PCB filed an official complaint with the ICC, putting the entire match referee Andy Pycroft for the row without Handshake and demanding his dismissal, but the CPI denied it.
Then, during the super oven match between India and Pakistan, Suryakumar Yadav completely ignored Salman Agha during the draw, and after having recorded another dominant victory with 6 gates, they refused to shake hands with the Pakistani.
India and Pakistan will then lock the horns with each other in the final of the 2025 Asian Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday September 28 and Handshake policy should continue
No handshake is not good for cricket – Salman Gha
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Pakistani skipper Salman Agha criticized the Indian players for not having shakes the Pakistani and said that it was bad for the game.
“Regarding hand handles, I have been playing professional cricket since 2007 in terms of under 16 years. I have never seen two teams don’t shake hands during the match. Even my father is a big cricket fan, I heard stories about him.
“He never told me that something such had happened in the past, that two teams playing cricket did not use hands. I have always heard that nothing like it had ever happened on a cricket field. India and Pakistan also played earlier when relations between the two countries were not even worse.
Salman Agha also said that India and Pakistan will be under pressure in the final, and that they would do their best to beat men in blue during the confrontation of the summit. He said:
“In the final, the two teams will be under pressure. We will do everything to win the final. What the Indian media say has nothing to do with us.”
Agha also warned India, saying that they could have saved their best stick performance for the 2025 Asian Cup final against India. He said:
“We all know that we have not fought well throughout the tournament. Who knows, maybe we saved our best performances for the final.”
