The adventure of Road Road Trip-Road Road Road Trip of Netflix reinvents the comedy of the hidden camera

I am not normally a fan of hidden camera gags because they are generally petty, but 2021 Bad trip This made me think back certain things after proving that the format can be funny without ruining people’s days. Upon entering my vision, I expected the typical Bro Shtick farce which is everywhere on Youtube, where people throw gallons of milk around the grocery store for clicks and views, only so that the poor clerks mopped disorder in a row. The only reason I gave Bad trip One chance is that it is an Eric André vehicle, and that the reversal of expectations is its bread and its butter.
What I thought was just another series of man-on-rue gags turned out to be a story of well-being on two idiots that take place in a disastrous road trip, not to the detriment of innocent passers-by who are caught, but to the detriment of his main characters.
The badly dilapidated journey
Bad trip To a naked story which is raised by these subversions. Chris Carey of André remembers his eternal love for Maria (Michaela Conlin), his crushing of the school, after stopping for a smoothie where he works. She mentions that she has an art gallery in New York, encouraging her to immediately contact her best friend, Bud (Lil rel howry), to go on the adventure of the cross-country of a life to visit her. Without a separate vehicle, Chris encourages Bud to steal the car from his sister Trina (Tiffany Haddish) because she is in prison and cannot drive her anyway.
While in the road to Florida in New York, Tiffany leaves prison, discovers that his car is stolen and decides to track them down and recover what is his.
Along the way, Bad trip is at the height of his name while Chris and Bud leave a disaster in their wake with each stop and detour, with their hidden camera eruptions taking the front of the stage while all those who cross their path receive a disturbing dose of rough humor.
Why this format works
Most movies and series focused on hidden cameras generate humor by humiliating their without mistrust. Bad trip Overturns the script by placing the weight of each ambush on Chris and Bud. Their disarticulated behavior generates the expected reactions that you would normally find in the genre, but in most cases, the joke is on our main characters. They humble each other to make themselves laugh and manage the consequences.
Bloopers’ sizzle coil after the film’s conclusion underlines how much an atmosphere has been created for each gag. Although there were sticks in the mud that made André felt worried about his own safety, most of the behind -the -scenes interactions were celebrated, and the unicenished participants were really happy to be part of the project.
The best comparison I can think of if you are not fully sold on the premise is between your typical YouTube Prank brother, and the gang of Impracticable jkers. The former tend to play petty pranks on their without mistrust for “comedy”. The latter focuses on the mean spirit while passers -by witnesses the benefits. Energy is the same, but intention is the key here. In Bad tripEveryone seems ecstatic to be on the joke, not the ass, once they realize what is happening.
Bad Trip streaming
If you are a fan of Eric André’s humor brand, but you have reservations that everyday people have trained while they are trying to spend their lives, you can be assured that the pranks represented in the film are mainly harmless. Most of the time, they imply that André undresses naked by a store store, vomiting everywhere after him after having taken a few glasses too much at the bar, or embarking on the song and dance at the shopping center while the disconcerted spectators wonder what is going on.
With all the familiar camera tropes hidden but intended for pranks instead of passers -by, Bad trip Offer chaos without guilt by people like you have never seen.
