Gaming companies under license in Sweden declare 7 billion SEK in turnover in 2025 Q2

The license game companies in Sweden declared a turnover of 7 billion Sek in the second quarter of 2025, an increase compared to the previous year.

Gaming companies with a Swedish license shared a turnover of 7 billion SEK ($ 740 million) in the second quarter of 2025, an increase of 1.9% compared to the same quarter of 2024. This is calculated widely by taking the total of the gains paid far from the challenges of the players.

Although it should be noted that these figures are preliminary and may be likely to change, it highlights the flourishing environment for license companies in Sweden.

At the end of the quarter, the report, published on September 4, of the Swedish Gaming Authority also showed that nearly 128,000 people had been suspended via Spelpaus.se. This is another increase of 2.2% compared to the previous quarter.

Sweden’s push to support license games

These figures occur only a few days after the Swedish Games authority also indicated that the majority of Swedish games had come by approved operators. The country’s authorities found it difficult to limit operators without license earlier in the year, while, despite 86% of the games of chance on the regulated market, around one in seven was still on a license -free sites.

The regulator had taken good measures against those who violate the license rules, even taking Paris giants for LMA violations. It is also planned to close all terrestrial casinos by 2026, however another avenue where Swedish authorities repress games of chance and related services.

Historically, but especially in recent years, Sweden has taken the social impact and the potential risks of online games seriously. 2025 has seen several new regulations introduced, after the National Office of the Swedish audit criticized the Swedish Games Authority earlier this year, saying that the organization had not met expectations when the market was raised in 2019.
