The head of the army of Israel says that captive “ Deal on Table ”, Israel must take it: Report | News Israel-Palestine Conflict

Lieutenant-general Eyal Zamir said the army “created the conditions” for a captive agreement with Hamas while Israel intensifies the attacks in Gaza.
The Israeli military leader said that “an agreement was on the table” to release the captives held in Gaza and the military offensive to grasp the city of Gaza would have a “great danger” for the life of the captives, according to Israeli media.
“Now, it’s in the hands of Netanyahu,” said Lieutenant-General of the Chief of the Staff, Eyal Zamir, the lieutenant of Channel 13 on Sunday during his visit to the Naval base of Haifa.
Zamir said that the army assault against Gaza, which led the enclave towards famine and killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, “created the conditions” for a captive agreement with Hamas.
“Following military pressure, we created the conditions for the release of the hostages,” he said an official statement published by the Israeli army reported by the Israeli media.
The comments come while the Israel security firm is expected to meet on Tuesday to discuss the last proposal for a mediated truce by Qatar and Egypt. Tens of thousands of Israelis protested, calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the war and bring back the captives.
Last week, Hamas said it has accepted the new proposals, which called for a temporary cessation of military operations for 60 days, during which the entry of humanitarian aid would be authorized, and half of the 50 Israeli captives would be exchanged for Palestinian prisoners.
But Israel continued its plan to seize Gaza City – which houses nearly a million people – despite a body supported by the United Nations last week, declaring famine in Gaza in the middle of an Israeli border at the entrance to food products.
Nearly 514,000 people experience famine, the number due to 641,000 at the end of September, said the integrated classification of the food security phase (IPC) last week.
Earlier Monday, the Gaza Ministry of Health said that 11 other people, including two children, died in malnutrition in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of deaths related to hunger and malnutrition in Gaza to 300, including 117 children.
On Monday, Israel bombed a hospital in Khan Younis in the south of Gaza, killing five journalists, including the cameraman Al Jazeera Mohammad Salama. The rescuers were one of the 20 killed in the attack, which triggered indignation and conviction.
Israel killed more than 62,000 Palestinians since he launched his devastating war against Gaza in October 2023.
