A baby gorilla, rescued last year with the shipping container of an airplane at Istanbul airport, could soon be returned to his Natal Nigeria.
The infant – named Zeytin in a public competition – was taken care of at the Polonezkoy zoo in Türkiye while he suffered a rehabilitation after his test in the hands of the smugglers. Zeytin has gained weight and has become larger since it was found in December.
The Turkish authorities are looking for Nigeria insurance that Zeytin will not be in danger of illegal traders on his return to the country.
