The Air Canada Cabin crew left work early Saturday, anchoring hundreds of flights and failing thousands of forced passengers to look for alternatives or stay in place.
The strike, which started just after 1 hour from Hae, forced the largest airline in Canada to suspend most of its 700 daily flights, affecting around 130,000 travelers, said the airline.
We do not know how many American passengers are affected. Air Canada is operating around 430 flights to the United States daily, over more than 1,000 flights in total, according to Travel and Tour World.

Air Canada unionized employees have formed stakes outside the main Canadian airports while they were fighting for better remuneration and conditions.
The Canadian Public Employee Syndicate, representing more than 10,000 on -board agents, said its members are currently only paid when the plane goes from decline on arrival and that they only receive any salary for membership in boarding, helping them to move or wait on the ground between flights.
The Labor Union requests complete compensation for this unpaid period.

“We are here because Air Canada forces us to work for free for hours and hours a day, and we are here because we are not going to accept it,” he said.
Air Canada said that its package increased the overall remuneration of 38% over four years, while the union stresses that the company offers only 50% for basic tasks like boarding and deplored, not wages each time.

“Air Canada will inform customers with imminent travel of additional cancelled flights and their options,” said the company. “For these customers who move soon, whose flights are not yet canceled, Air Canada has set up a good will to allow them to read their trip or obtain credit for future trips.”
Air Canada has asked Prime Minister Mark Carney’s liberal government to act, but the union said he wanted a negotiated solution because binding arbitration would put pressure on the airline.
Air Canada flies towards more than 180 airports in Canada, the United States and abroad on six continents, the company said.
