Samsung Smart Monitor M90SF Revue: The 4k Oled Hybrid

I measured a maximum of 980 nasty of peak brightness in a window of 1% and 850 nits in a window of 4%, approaching Samsung’s complaint of 1,000 nits. It is far from the 2,000 nits (or more) that you can get on a large OLED television, but for the current harvesting of OLED monitors, it’s very brilliant. It is a huge upgrade on a typical IPS monitor when it comes to watching movies.

As usual with OLED monitors, it is not terribly shiny in the standard definition range (DST). I measured it with only 233 nits of maximum brightness. It is a gradator that a high quality LED or mini monitor, which can sometimes reach 400 or 500 nits. You may want it to be brighter if you are in a brilliant room.

The colors, however, are fantastic, covering 91% of adubergb and 98% P3. I would calibrate this screen if you intend to use it for a ranking of serious colors. The colors were not as precise as I saw it in other OLED monitors, especially in the default tone mode, “WARM1”. The transition to “standard” mode has slightly helped, bringing the Delta-E to 1.86. I would have liked to see the precision of colors above, however, especially since the OLED monitors are perfect for content creators.

Speaking of this, I did not have access to HDR at all when it is connected to a MacBook, which can be a popular option for creators of aforementioned content. I also met a frustrating bug in MacOS which automatically took the video quickly, whether Netflix or Youtube. Fortunately, none of these problems occurred in Windows.

At its original price of $ 1,600, it is incredibly expensive. It is $ 800 more expensive than the M8 M80F, another 32 -inch 4K 4K instructor with several of the same features. Inevitable discounts will facilitate the stomach and I do not recommend buying the M90SF at a high price.

You always pay a few hundred dollars more than the Samsung Odyssey G8, which is also an Oled 4K 32 inch monitor and has a faster 240 Hz refreshment rate. If you do not know if you will constantly use these additional features, you would better save your money by buying the Dell 32 Plus QD-Old or one of the many good monitors. OLED. Heck, you can buy an incredible television for this money.

You pay more for these intelligent features and the possibility of distributing without being connected to a PC. There is more than that, like the impressive pair of speakers on board and a beautiful 12 megapixel webcam. These are not things you will find on your average game instructor. So, for the right person – what happens to be a person like me – all this is worth an additional premium.
