To be fair towards Liverpool, they have always been clear about how they expect the contenders to approach their best assets. Unless their contracts are dangerously close to the expiration, the club will want to see a clear return on investment.
Even more in the case of Diaz, since Liverpool expressly clearly indicated that the winger is not for sale this summer.
