Chelsea wants to recruit “one of the best full-backs in the PL”

Although it hasn’t all been easy for Chelsea this season, fans have had plenty to celebrate.

One of the most exciting developments so far has been the emergence of Estevao.

The 18-year-old superstar in the making has so far far exceeded expectations and has already established himself as one of the most dynamic strikers in Enzo Maresca’s side.

Fans should therefore be delighted by reports linking Chelsea with an international ace who could help squeeze even more out of the Brazilian.

Chelsea target Estevao’s dream teammate

Even before his arrival on these shores, there was a lot of hype surrounding Esetvao, so much so that respected analyst-turned-scout Ben Mattinson called him a “future Ballon d’Or winner” before signing for Chelsea.

However, while the expectations placed on him were sky-high, few expected him to make a huge impact in his first campaign with the club he owns.

For example, the teenage phenom has already scored six goals in 21 matches, including a goal against Barcelona and the winning goal against Liverpool.

In short, Estevao already looks like the wunderkind he was supposed to be, so it’s not that surprising that the club is now turning to a player who could help get even more out of him.

At least that’s according to a recent report from Caught Offside, which claims that Chelsea are one of the few teams interested in Daniel Munoz.

Alongside the Blues, the report revealed that Manchester United and Manchester City are also keen to change the South American situation.

Unfortunately, two potential obstacles could prevent this transfer: Crystal Palace’s reluctance to sell and the fact that he will be out through injury for at least several weeks.

However, every player has a price, and the Eagles have sold stars in recent years, so Chelsea should make every effort to sign Munoz next year, both for his own abilities and for the impact he could have on Estevao.

Why Munoz would be a dream signing for Estevao

It’s no surprise that while Munoz’s defensive abilities would be useful at Chelsea, it’s his offensive qualities that would make the most significant difference.

These are also the skills that would make him a great signing for Estevao.

For example, thanks to the fact that he is, in the words of one professional football scout, “one of the best RWBs in the Premier League”, the Colombian international would be able to constantly overlap and give chances to the Brazilian prodigy.

After all, he’s already doing it in a weaker team, and so far this season he’s recorded five goals in just 14 league appearances.

He’s not just on a roll, either; Last season he finished the campaign with a sensational tally of six goals and eight assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

Unsurprisingly, the former Genk gem’s underlying numbers also more than confirm his production.

According to FBref, he ranks in the top 6% of full-backs in Europe’s top five leagues for shots on target, top 7% for non-penalty goals and tackles and interceptions, top 10% for expected assisted goals, top 14% for goal-creating actions and more, all per 90.

In other words, when the Palace ace isn’t creating chances for his teammates, he’s creating them for himself.

Imagine a right back with him and the young Brazilian, the opposing defenders would never have a moment’s respite.

Ultimately, although it won’t be easy, Chelsea should do everything possible to sign Munoz in 2026, as he could have a transformational impact on the team and Estevao.
