4 Final WWE Opponents for Shinsuke Nakamura After Recent Announcement

WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura has somewhat lifted the lid on his future within the squared circle. The former United States champion said it might be time for him to evaluate his future as an artist, especially after his friends AJ Styles and John Cena decided to hang up their boots.

The 45-year-old superstar surprised fans on social media by saying that Cena and Styles’ retirements reminded him that his time may not be far away.

Perhaps by next year, Shinsuke Nakamura will also be able to announce his retirement. While he may not get a retirement tour, the company is expected to book his final matches against superstars with whom he has a long rivalry.

#4 Two-time WWE Champion, AJ Styles

Nakamura and AJ Styles’ in-ring rivalry dates back to their days in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in 2015. The two have faced each other several times in the ring, including a classic match at Wrestle Kingdom 10.

However, most of their feud took place in WWE, and that includes a match at WrestleMania 34 for the WWE Championship. Nakamura had won the 2018 Royal Rumble and was set to dethrone AJ Styles as WWE Champion. However, he lost that match and from there his downfall in the company began.

Therefore, WWE should give Nakamura his due and book him in a compelling feud against AJ Styles. The two can create magic inside the ring again, and what better time than next year’s WrestleMania 42?

#3 Find Balor

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor is another match fans deserve to see before the Japanese star finally signs on. The two superstars have worked together in NJPW, NXT and WWE. However, the company has yet to book them in a good storyline on the main roster.

With Balor being a heel and Nakamura a face at the moment, these two could be booked to work in a few matches. Nakumura can be recruited to RAW, and he can start a storyline with Balor, once the Irish superstar leaves the Judgment Day faction.

#2 Sami Zayn

WWE should book Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura as the two have an iconic rivalry. Sami Zayn was the first superstar Nakamura defeated in his debut match at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. Since then, the two superstars have crossed paths on numerous occasions.

Shinsuke Nakamura challenged Sami Zayn for the United States Championship in his return two weeks ago on SmackDown. However, he was unable to win the match after a returning Tama Tonga attacked him. Zayn is now no longer the United States Champion and Nakamura is also back in the company. The company shouldn’t waste time pitting these two legends against each other.

Tama Tonga returned and attacked Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown, with no prior rivalry between them. This indicates that the company could be planning something between these two superstars eventually.

Nakamura has yet to get his revenge on the Bloodline following the SmackDown assault. Since Bloodline also cost Sami Zayn his title against Ilja Dragunov, Zayn and Nakamura can unite in their fight against MFT. With Survivor Series: WarGames on the horizon, these two can recruit a few more superstars to take on Solo Sikoa’s MFT at the event.
