“There is a ton of pressure on the Oklahoma venables,” said Meyer on “Big Noon Kickoff”, by On3 on Saturday. “I’m going to say this: he must win this match. It’s his fourth year, and he has to win this match. Lots of pressure, but the front pass is back to Ann Arbor.”
The co-host of Urban Meyer thinks that John Mateer could be the key player in Michigan’s game against Oklahoma
Urban Meyer was joined by one of the personalities of Barstool Sports, Big Cat, who believes that if a large part of the attention is on the QB Bryce Underwood of Michigan, the real key of the game will be John Mateer of Oklahoma.
“Listen, I think everyone is talking about the bad quarter,” said Big Cat by On3 on Saturday. “It’s John Mateer in this match. It will be his outing party. Everyone talks about Bryce Underwood. He is on the road by playing against Venable Defense. First start on the road. John Mateer is the guy.
“He will win this match, and it will be the buzz that will be released.”
Mateer, a transfer of the state of Washington, made its solid debut from Oklahoma last week with impressive statistics (30 assists on 37, 393 yards, three affected, an int and a precipitated TD).
While Oklahoma and Mateer appreciated their first victory, the Wolverines of Michigan also opened their season strongly with a 34-17 victory on the New Mexico, with Underwood contributing to 251 yards and a touchdown.
